The Art of Movement –
The class began with a brief introduction of what the students were going to be making and learning. They were told the history of animation and how animation is the art of movement. It is created by displaying a series of pictures or frames. Unlike a video which is in a single motion, animation starts with independent pictures and puts them together to form the illusion of continuous motion.
The students were taught that they first need to create a story and then a story board before making the animation.
They were given a topic “Magician” and were asked to create their own story. The kids began to draw out their story, come up with their characters.
Once they finished creating their story they got down to making cut outs of their characters. Amid lots of chatting, giggles and laughter these kids made their first cutout.
