A Cut-out Animation Workshop at Prince of Wales Museum

An Exciting Phase in the life of Toon Club.
We have just bagged our dream project with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (Prince of Wales Museum).

The Museum is launching Mumbai City’s FIRST Children’s Museum – For the Children, By the Children. Which means children curate the exhibits and are involved in every possible way.

For this purpose, the Museum conducted a few competitions to shortlist the best children for performing various roles. The winners of the essay writing competition will first undergo an intensive training program before they are involved in curating the exhibits. The winners of the art competition will undergo intensive training in the art and technique of animation before they produce an animation film for the Children’s Museum
We feel blessed that we were the first and only choice for the Museum, to conduct an animation training program with the 12 winners of the art competition and help them through the process of creating their own short animation film.

The 12 winners are in the age group of 8 to 16 years. Since Mr. Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Director General & Secretary, Board of Trustees (CSMVS), a kind gentleman wanted the program to be as inclusive as possible, the group of 12 includes 2 young adults from an NGO.

We have only 30 hours to complete the pre-production and animation with a group of kids who know nothing about the technique and principles of animations. It’s a tough job yet exciting project and we look forward to the final outcome. Wish us luck!
